February Week 1: INTEGRITY
"Integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching." – Anonymous
At Gracie Humaitá Jiu-Jitsu Barrie, we train not just for skill, but for character. Integrity is a crucial part of being a martial artist—it means staying honest, making the right choices, and staying true to our values, both on and off the mats.
Integrity in Jiu-Jitsu means training with discipline, helping teammates improve, and respecting your instructor. It means showing up ready to work hard, not just when you’re feeling motivated, but every day. It’s easy to display good sportsmanship when you win, but true integrity is shown in how you handle challenges, losses, and setbacks.
A person with integrity doesn’t look for shortcuts or ways to bend the rules. They hold themselves to a high standard and lead by example. Whether in class, at home, or in competition, integrity is what sets apart the best martial artists.
Ask yourself:
Let’s continue to push ourselves to train hard, improve daily, and always uphold the values of integrity and respect.
