June Week 4: 100% EFFORT – Turning Goals into Action

“Some people dream of success … while others wake up and work hard at it.”

– Unknown

At Gracie Humaitá Jiu-Jitsu in Barrie, we believe effort beats excuses. Every day, we’re surrounded by people who talk about what they’re going to do… and those who actually do it. The difference isn’t luck, skill, or talent—it’s effort. Relentless, consistent, 100% effort.

Our students learn that the path to greatness isn't found in talking—it's earned on the mat through sweat, focus, and follow-through.

The Doer’s Mindset Starts Here

In our kids and adult Jiu-Jitsu classes, we teach more than technique. We teach our students to:

✅ Work hard through challenges

✅ Get back up after tough rolls

✅ Stay consistent even when progress feels slow

✅ Respect the grind and push through setbacks

Because champions aren’t made by talking about potential—they’re made by showing up and giving their all.

Reinforce the Message at Home

Bring this lesson off the mats by talking with your child about:

  • What are some things you’ve said you want to do, but haven’t started?
  • How do you feel after a class where you gave 100%?
  • What’s one small action you can take today toward your goal?

These questions help kids (and adults!) take ownership of their dreams by realizing the power of daily effort.

Ask Your Child This Week:

  1. Do you want to be a talker or a doer? Why?
  2. What is something you tell people you want to accomplish, but haven’t done anything about?
  3. What is something you can start doing today to help you reach that goal?

At Gracie Humaitá Barrie, we don’t just teach Jiu-Jitsu—we teach our students how to lead themselves. With 100% effort and a doer’s mindset, anything is possible.
